Dr. Marco Ferriera

Statistics

Dr. Ferreira’s research program focuses on the development of Bayesian statistical methods, modeling and computation for highly structured data, with emphasis on time series, spatial and spatiotemporal data. Recent research projects have included: development of dynamic multiscale models for spatiotemporal datasets; development of optimal design of monitoring networks for spatial and spatiotemporal processes; and the study of the relationship between meteorological variables and tornado occurrence as well as identification of temporal trends in relevant meteorological variables. Dr. Ferreira is an Associate Professor and currently the Director of Graduate Programs in the Department of Statistics, teaching graduate courses in Time Series Analysis and Spatial Statistics.
